Dental Tourism Travel Insurance

Travelling overseas for planned dental treatment? Go Insurance offers a Dental Tourism Insurance optional cover that can be added to any Leisure cover level, helping provide selected travel insurance benefits for eligible dental tourism trips.

Important before you buy

Dental Tourism is optional cover
It must be selected and shown on your Certificate of Insurance
It can be added to any Leisure cover level
Cover is subject to the PDS, SPDS, limits and exclusions

Cover designed for dental tourism trips

Standard travel insurance is not usually designed for people travelling overseas specifically to receive elective dental treatment.

Dental tourism can involve flights, accommodation, appointments, recovery time and follow-up travel arrangements. If something goes wrong before or during the trip, travellers may face additional costs or disruption.

Go Insurance’s Dental Tourism optional cover is designed to provide selected benefits for eligible travellers who are travelling overseas for planned dental treatment.

Who it may suit

Australians travelling overseas for planned dental treatment
Travellers with prepaid flights, accommodation and dental appointments
Travellers wanting cover for selected dental tourism disruptions
People arranging treatment and travel before leaving Australia

What Dental Tourism cover may include

Depending on the policy, selected cover may be available for certain dental tourism related events.

Cancellation costs in certain covered circumstances
Emergency post-procedure dental treatment overseas
Additional transport or accommodation costs in selected circumstances
Return travel for remedial treatment, where covered by the policy

What it is not

Dental Tourism optional cover is not a replacement for medical or dental advice, and it does not mean the planned dental treatment itself is covered as a normal medical expense.

It also does not remove the need to research your dental provider, understand the clinical risks, obtain appropriate advice and make sure you are fit to travel.

You should read the PDS and the applicable Optional Cover SPDS carefully before deciding whether this cover is right for you.

Why standard travel insurance may not be enough

Travel insurance generally covers unforeseen or unexpected events. Elective treatment is different.

If you are travelling overseas for planned dental work, standard travel insurance may exclude claims connected with elective, cosmetic, routine or planned treatment.

That is why Dental Tourism optional cover needs to be selected if you want cover for eligible dental tourism related events.

Before arranging treatment overseas

Check the qualifications and reputation of your dental provider
Understand the treatment plan, risks and recovery time
Allow time for follow-up appointments before returning home
Keep written treatment plans, receipts and appointment confirmations
Read the PDS and Optional Cover SPDS before you buy

Adding Dental Tourism cover

Dental Tourism cover can be added to any Go Insurance Leisure cover level.

When applying, choose your preferred Leisure cover level, then select Dental Tourism optional cover where available. You should check that the optional cover is shown on your Certificate of Insurance.

If it is not shown on your Certificate of Insurance, Dental Tourism optional cover has not been added to your policy.
