Partner With Us

Travel insurance your clients will actually thank you for

Go Insurance is an Australian travel insurance provider and Lloyd’s coverholder. We work with travel agencies, agents and brokers who want a flexible product, a local team that answers the phone, and an underwriter that says yes more often.

Which form do you need?

There are three ways to work with us. Pick the one that describes you — it saves everyone time.

Option 1

My business isn’t set up with Go Insurance yet

You own or manage a travel agency, tour operation or travel business, and you’d like to start offering Go Insurance to your clients. Your business doesn’t have an account with us.

This sets up your business as a Go Insurance distributor.

Option 2

My agency already offers Go Insurance

You’re a consultant or agent working at a travel agency that already sells Go Insurance, and you need your own access so you can quote and issue policies yourself.

This adds you as an agent under your agency’s existing account.

Option 3

I’m an insurance broker

You’re a general insurance broker or authorised representative looking to place leisure, group, corporate or inbound travel risks with a Lloyd’s-backed product.

This sets up a broker relationship with us.

Not sure whether you’re a distributor or an agent?

The quickest way to tell: if your agency already offers Go Insurance to clients, you’re an agent — use the agent form, not the distributor form. The distributor form is for setting up a business that doesn’t have an account with us yet.

If your agency has never sold Go Insurance, or you’re not sure, call us on 1300 819 888 and we’ll point you the right way.

Why Go Insurance

What you get when you partner with us

Security

Lloyd’s-backed

Our policies are underwritten by Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s, led by Canopius Managing Agents Ltd, Syndicate 4444. We hold a binding authority, so decisions get made quickly rather than referred offshore.

Claims

Claims handled in-house

We’re authorised to handle claims on the underwriters’ behalf. Your clients deal with our team, not a third-party administrator — and you’re not left chasing someone else’s service standards.

Support

An Australian team

Our office is in Brisbane and our emergency assistance team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with multilingual staff and medical, insurance and travel specialists.

Flexibility

A product that bends

Three leisure cover levels plus Go Ultra, optional modules clients can remove, a choice of excess, and cancellation cover set to the value of the trip. No one-size-fits-all packages.

Earnings

Commission on every policy

Distributors receive commission and/or a policy fee on the insurance they arrange. We’ll walk you through the commercial terms that apply to your business when you get in touch.

Systems

Quote and issue online

Our distributor portal lets you quote, issue, vary and renew policies yourself, including online medical screening — so you’re not waiting on us to get a client covered.

The Difference

The travellers other insurers turn away

A lot of our business comes from cases that don’t fit a standard product. If you’ve had a client declined elsewhere, there’s a good chance we can help.

Already overseas — travellers who have already departed can still be covered, subject to a waiting period and a confirmed return ticket
One-way and relocating — cover for clients emigrating or travelling one-way to a nominated final destination
Non-permanent residents — inbound cover for visa holders who have lived in Australia for at least 3 months
Long trips — up to 18 months from the original departure date
Pre-existing medical conditions — a broad automatic cover list, plus online screening for conditions that need assessing
Unusual activities — many sports and leisure activities are automatically covered, and others can be considered on request
Families — dependent children aged 20 or under travelling with an insured adult are covered at no extra cost
Innovation

Cover the rest of the market hasn’t built yet

We don’t wait for the industry to move. When we see a gap between the trips Australians are taking and the cover available to them, we build the product — which means you have something to offer that your competitors simply don’t.

Industry First

War & Armed Conflict Cover

Travel insurance has excluded war and armed conflict as standard for as long as the product has existed. We changed that. Every Go Insurance policy now includes automatic medical and personal accident cover if a client is unexpectedly caught in a war or armed conflict that begins after they’ve departed — with optional disruption cover for additional accommodation, travel and transfer costs available at purchase.

For clients travelling through genuinely unpredictable parts of the world, it’s the difference between a policy that responds and one that doesn’t.

Go Ultra

Cancel For Your Reason (CFYR)

Standard cancellation cover responds to a defined list of events. CFYR responds to the ones nobody can list in advance — the personal reasons a client’s plans fall apart that no policy schedule anticipates.

Available as an optional upgrade on Go Ultra, our highest tier, it’s the answer for clients who ask “but what if I just can’t go?” — a question agents field constantly and rarely have a good answer to.

Unique Product

Dental Tourism Insurance

Travel undertaken to obtain medical treatment is excluded under standard travel insurance — ours included. So we wrote a separate product for it. Clients travelling overseas for dental work can be covered for complications or remedial treatment arising from their procedure.

Dental tourism to Thailand, Bali and Vietnam is a substantial and growing market, and it is almost entirely uninsured. If you book it, you can now cover it.

Unique Product

Destination Wedding Insurance

Overseas weddings involve irreplaceable items that ordinary personal property limits were never designed for. Our Destination Wedding extension helps protect wedding attire, rings, cake, flowers and gifts against loss, theft or damage.

For agents specialising in destination weddings — and the wedding parties travelling with them — it turns a nervous conversation into a straightforward one.

Seeing a gap we haven’t filled yet?

Every one of these products started with someone telling us their clients couldn’t get covered for something. Our partners are closest to the travellers, so if you’re repeatedly turning business away or explaining what a policy won’t do, we want to hear about it. Email sales@goinsurance.com.au — we read every one of them.

The Range

What you’ll be able to offer

Five product lines, each with its own PDS and Target Market Determination, plus optional extensions that let clients build the cover around their trip.

Core products

Leisure — Go Basic, Go Plus and Go Elite, single trip or annual multi-trip
Go Ultra — our highest tier, with Cancel For Your Reason (CFYR) available as an upgrade
Group — for groups travelling together under a single policy
Corporate — for businesses covering travelling employees
Inbound — for non-residents visiting or living in Australia

Optional extensions

Cruise — including ship-to-shore evacuation, cabin confinement and missed port cover
Snow Sports — equipment, lift passes, piste closure and avalanche cover
Water Sports — equipment, boat hire fees, passes and lessons
Golf — equipment, hire and unused green fees
Business — business equipment, money and document re-creation
Sailing — offshore boating, recreational sailing, open-water racing and regattas

Included as standard on every policy

Overseas medical expenses and repatriation, and personal liability, are compulsory on all cover levels and cannot be removed — so no client is ever left without the cover that matters most. Full terms, limits and exclusions are set out in the PDS.

Compliance

A partner your compliance team will be comfortable with

Go Insurance is a registered trading name of Go Unlimited Pty Ltd (ABN 74 149 217 925), an Australian Financial Services Licensee (AFSL 404782) authorised by ASIC to deal in and provide general advice on general insurance products.

Published Target Market Determinations for every product, meeting design and distribution obligations

A free internal complaints process, with escalation to Lloyd’s Australia and AFCA
Professional indemnity insurance complying with section 912B of the Corporations Act

As a distributor you’ll be able to give clients factual information about our products and arrange to issue, vary or renew their insurance. If a client needs more than factual information, they can be referred straight to our team.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

What travel agencies, agents and brokers most often ask about partnering with Go Insurance.

What’s the difference between a distributor and an agent?

A distributor is the business — the travel agency or travel company that holds the account with Go Insurance. An agent is an individual consultant working within that business. If your agency already offers Go Insurance, you need the agent form so we can add you under their account.

My agency already sells Go Insurance. Which form do I use?

The agent registration form. You don’t need to apply as a distributor — your agency already is one. The agent form adds you to their existing account and gives you your own access to quote and issue.

I’m not sure whether my agency has an account with Go Insurance. What should I do?

Call us on 1300 819 888 and we’ll check for you in a couple of minutes. It’s quicker than guessing, and saves you filling in the wrong form.

Who can become a Go Insurance distributor?

Retail travel agencies, tour operators, cruise specialists, online travel businesses and affiliate partners. If you deal with travellers and want to offer them cover, get in touch and we’ll talk through whether a partnership makes sense.

Do I need an AFS licence to offer Go Insurance?

It depends on your business type and how you intend to distribute. Distributors act on behalf of Go Insurance and the underwriters, giving clients factual information and arranging to issue, vary or renew policies. Our team will explain exactly what’s required for your situation before you commit to anything.

How are distributors paid?

Distributors receive a commission and/or policy fee from Go Insurance for arranging insurance. The commercial terms depend on your business, so we’ll discuss these with you directly once we understand how you plan to work with us.

What can you offer that other insurers can’t?

Automatic war and armed conflict medical cover, Cancel For Your Reason on Go Ultra, and standalone dental tourism and destination wedding products — none of which are standard in the Australian market. We also cover travellers who are already overseas, travelling one-way, or aged over 75.

Who handles claims for my clients?

We do. Go Insurance is authorised to handle claims on the underwriters’ behalf, so your clients deal with our team directly rather than a third-party administrator. Our emergency assistance team is available 24/7 for medical emergencies overseas.

How do I quote and issue policies?

Through our online distributor portal. You can quote, issue, vary and renew policies yourself, including completing medical screening online, so clients can be covered on the spot.
